IWD 2023: Embracing equity to solve the climate crisis

Women make up half of the world's population and are

disproportionately affected by the impacts of climate change.

They are more likely to be living in poverty, more likely to be displaced by natural disasters, and more likely to suffer from the effects of air pollution.

Women must have a seat at the table in climate leadership positions. Their perspectives and experiences must be taken into account when developing

climate policies and solutions.

Join the CGLN's Director, Yulia Chekunaeva, in conversation with:

  • Christine Weydig (CGLN Fellow and Chief Executive of The Coalition for Reimagined Mobility (ReMo)

  • Julie Hirigoyen (CGLN Fellow and Chief Executive of the UK Green Building Council)

  • Sapna Halai (CGLN Youth Advisory Councilmember for Construction)

The group discuss their experiences as existing and emerging female leaders and what steps need to be taken to encourage women and other under-represented groups into leadership positions.
