First group of the CGLN Youth Advisory Council announced

11 Jan 2022

Today, 11 January 2022, the Clean Growth Leadership Network (CGLN) is delighted to announce its first cohort of Youth Advisory Council members, covering sectors including construction, manufacturing, energy, climate finance and GHG removal.

CGLN strongly believes that in solving the climate crisis cross-generational and cross-sectoral dialogue is vital, young people must be engaged in a meaningful way. The leaders of tomorrow will inherit the world of today and, as such, will be the ones to pay the price if we neglect our duty to decarbonise our world.

CGLN Co-Founder and former UK Minister with responsibility for higher education, Lord David Triesman, expressed that he is:

“…delighted to see the CGLN working to identify and proactively engage the bright young voices, whose unique perspectives are essential in finding innovative solutions to the climate crisis.”

The CGLN is eager to promote the insights of each council member within their respective sectors, and for the Council to collectively play a key role in the organic development of the Network.

Network Director, Yulia Chekunaeva commented that:

“…The calibre of candidates interviewed was impressive and I am excited to see how the Council will help shape the growing network with both their insight and enthusiasm to build a sustainable world.”
